Born in a poor family of staunch Hindu culture in the land of Lord Jagannath, Puri, Orissa. He spent his childhood in the lap of mother earth, playing in the sands of the Golden beach of Puri (Bay of Bengal) , making sculptures of Gods and Goddesses.
Sudarsan faced lots of difficulties to start his career as a sand artist due to lack of scope of this form of art and also limitations of not having a coach. He pursued the creativity in his gifted ability from God.
Initially the forms of the sculpture were not matured, as he did not get any professional assistance but having patience and lots of practice made him up to certain level where he is able to represent Indian arts into international level.
Providing training to artists through open air Golden Sand Art Institute at Puri beach that I started in 1994 with a view to make these students learn and develop sand art as a professional art form. Students from India and abroad are enrolled for projects, regular and short term courses. My objective is to create professional artists through regular curriculum in this school of art and culture in a Gurukul concept.
Published a book regarding SAND ART.
Conducted training and workshops and demonstrated the art form in different Fair and Festivals in and around the countries to promote and popularize this art.
